This conference is the greatest international conference dealing the plasma spectrometry in various application fields. The main focus of the workshop will be on how to establish metrology in clinical diagnosis and what the main challenges in the future will be, also regarding the fast increasing amount of biomarkers which should be addressed.
The following EMRP projects will be contributing to the conference:
- EMRP project Metrology for metalloproteins (HLT05 Metallomics) will create methods for quantifying the many different types of metalloprotein to help meet EU regulations, improve diagnosis and improve the quality of patient care. HLT05 JRP-Partners will hold a metrology workshop during the conference.
- Chemical and optical characterisation of nanomaterials in biological systems (NEW03 Nano ChOp) will develop methods to characterise nanomaterial properties in biological environments.
- Primary standards for challenging elements (SIB09 Elements) will develop methods to realise standards for challenging elements frequently used in chemical analysis, e.g. magnesium, zinc and molybdenum, and it will produce standards for these in the process.
- Traceability for Mercury Measurements (ENV51 MeTra) will develop a metrological infrastructure for mercury measurements in the environment to support European legislation as part of the treaty aimed at reducing global mercury emissions.
